First Impression & Review: Borghese

Name: Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face and Body

Price: $37

My skin Type: Combination to Dry

P1110749 P1110751

Hints: You should apply toner/serum on before you use any deep cleaning mask to prevent the skin from losing too much moisture and becoming too dry.

My first reaction when I applied the mud mask on my face is “ouch”. I experienced a tingle feeling that was like a burning sensation. The tingling feeling actually lasted for a good minute before it went away. The instruction said to leave it on for 2-5 minutes. I leave it on for 5 minutes and wash away with a sponge and clean water. I then applied a heavy layer of aloe gel for a claiming and soothing effect.

Instant impression:

I didn’t see anything instant difference yet. However right after I washed my face, my skin felt very dry.

I don’t want to judge a product by its first use, therefore I decided to give it a try again next week.  And I don’t like to apply deep cleaning mask as frequent because I think it is too hash for my skin.

2nd attempts:

Same as the first time, there is also a tingle sensation which is very uncomfortable. It it went away after a minute. I ask my sister –in-law who is also using it if she experience anything like that. (Her skin type is oily). She said there is a slight tingle feeling to it, but it wasn’t as bad as what I experienced. So I think that the tingling is normal. After I washed it off, my skin felt very dry as well.

My pores did look cleaner and smaller.  And the tingling that I experienced was normal, but the burning sensation was too much for me to bear. There are other alternatives that can clean up my pores as well or even better at a cheaper price and is less irritate and harsh to my skin. Another thing that I don’t like about this mask is that it really dries out my skin. So if you are like me, you should consider other deep cleaning mask.

July Empties

Annie’s Way: Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid Brighten Jelly Mask

I heard a lot of great reviews from youtubers and bloggers about this jelly mask and when I’m back in Hk, I rushed to get it in LogOn. This is made in Taiwan and lately this kind of jelly mask is becoming very popular in many Asian countries. The one I used is Arbutin plus hyaluronic which claims will brighten the skin complexion, while moisturizing and minimizing fine lines and pores. Every time after I use it, my face feels much softer and smoother. And my pores really appears a lot smaller.

Stila Stay all day waterproof liquid eyeliner (Sample size)

This is a deluxe sample from Sephora. The color is very dark and intense. The eyeliner is able to stay on the entire day if I don’t rub my eyes. The tip was very hard at first, however after first few use, the tip soften up.  I brought this eyeliner with me to Hong Kong last month and even with the humid weather there, it still lasts the whole day.

Philosophy Purity One step Cleaner

This is my third bottles already, and is a decent face wash. Before I only use this alone but  now I switched to the Clarins face wash at night, so I only use the philosophy one in the morning. The philosophy cleanser is very mild, therefore it will not be too harsh for my skin right after I get up every morning. My basic requirement for a face wash is that it can clean my face well without feeling greasy. And it does not dries out my skin. And this face wash fulfilled both requirements, therefore I’m been using it for such a long time. And I just repurchased the 4th one.

Crabtree & Evelyn – Iris Hand Care Collection

If there is one thing that cannot go missing in my purse, that would be my hand cream. I don’t even remember how many time I need to apply it every day. And in the past few years, I have tried numerous different hand creams. Some are in the cheaper range, while others are pretty expensive, however I haven’t found my perfect hand cream yet. This hand cream from Crabtree & Evelyn has a really light floral smell to it, it smells very refreshing and it is not greasy at all. However I think it is not moist enough. It is a good hand cream for the summer, however it does not  give my hands enough moisture in the winter. With the same price range, I would go for  something else instead of this one.

And that’s it for my july empties. What are some of your july’s empties that you recommend or don’t recommend?

We shall talk beauty very soon!!!

Nails in Nude

Hello ladies

Nude color is becoming my new favorite go-to nail color. It is simple, casual and elegant at the same time. I received this as a beauty bundle that I purchase together with other Revlon products. I did not expect that it will look so nice on. After trying it out for the first time, I fall in love instantly with this nude color.

I like to apply the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme before I start doing my nails.

Revlon Colorstay nail polish in color 320 Trade winds & Nail stickers

Adding a little sticker to one of the nails on each hands really gives more live to this nail style.

Hope you are enjoying this nude style!

OCT Empties

Today I’m going to show you my October Empties. Before we begin, I have a question for you. Do you feel this little excitement when you finally use up a product? As oddly as it sounds, I actual got excited when I’m finishing a product. LOLS.

For this month, I only use up 4 products. They were all skincare products and I’m consider in repurchasing some of them.

Face Cream G-1 Boys & girls – This was actually a sample that I received in the Birchbox back in July. I tried it on once when I received it, I did not like it back then. And two weeks ago, I took it out from my “sample” box and decide to give it a try again. And I liked it so much more this time. I usually apply this in the morning after my toner. It feels very light- weighted and smooth on my skin. And it does what it claim, it helps to regulating, moisturizing and matifying the skin. I am consider in purchasing the full size in the future.

Avene Fluide Matifiant – This was also a Deluxe sample that I received during one of my purchase. I have  been using their Thermal spring water spray, so I’m very excited to try this moisturizer. And of course, it did not fail me. It is very lightweight but moisturizing at the same time. I like to mix this with my Lancome foundation to achieve a more flawless look in the Fall. By applying moisturizer to the foundation, it really helps the foundation to stay on better.  Will definitely repurchase this.

Shiseido Urban environment oil- free UV protector: This is a great sunscreen, not oily or heavy at all. And it has a SPF of 42 so it gives my face enough protection even in the crazy summer days. However, I’m not considering in repurchasing this again for two reasons. Number one is  I have been using the same sunscreen for almost 2 years, so time to try something new. And second  is because it is a bit pricey.

Crabtree & Evelyn in Summer Hill – I’m literally cannot live without hand cream. There is a hand cream in every bags that I use. My hands tend to get very dry all four seasons and so hand cream is a must for me. I purchased few of the Crabtree & Evenlyn hand creams during their sales and I really like it. It smells very nice and it keeps my hand soft and smooth. However, I still on the road of searching for my best hand product. So I will not be repurchasing this in the short future.

And this is all the products that I used up this month! What’s your empties list?

My Benefit obsession

Hello beautiful ladies,

After using the Benetint, I just fall in love with that. It is my “favorite-go-to” blush. It gives a very natural and healthy look. When I have it on, I look like I’m really blushing. And this week, I’m off to try to some more benefit products. I ordered the Benefit Cosmetics Gettin’ Cheeky!. It includes a Posie Tint, Sun Beam, and Cha Cha Tint. Along with the order, I also receives a Delux sample of Benefit’s creasless cream shadow in the color NO Pressure. I’m very looking forward to play around with them.

Here are the swatch of the colors.

P.S hope you are enjoying the pictures of my little piggy!
